What We Offer

Shoulder instability occurs when the shoulder joint dislocates or subluxates repeatedly, often resulting from sports injuries, trauma, or anatomical variations. This condition can significantly impact daily activities and athletic performance due to pain, apprehension, and recurrent episodes. Dr. Laric offers comprehensive treatment for selected cases of shoulder instability, including arthroscopic stabilisation procedures such as Bankart repairs and capsular shifts. These minimally invasive techniques restore the normal anatomy of the shoulder joint by repairing torn ligaments and tightening stretched joint capsules. For complex cases involving significant bone loss, open procedures may be necessary. The treatment approach is individualised based on the patient's age, activity level, and specific anatomical findings to provide long-lasting stability and confidence in shoulder function.

Dr. Laric treats these common pathologies either conservatively for tendonitis/bursitis, tendinosis conditions, or surgically ( arthroscopically or miniopen ) in cases of advanced pathology or rotator cuff or proximal biceps tendon tears. Essential to the recovery of surgically treated patients is postoperative physiotherapy.

Common conditions presenting include the following:

  • Acute traumatic conditions, including fractures and distal biceps tendon tears
  • Chronic inflammatory conditions such as gouty tophi or olecranon bursitis
  • Tendinopathies such as tennis elbow and golfer's elbow
  • Nerve entrapment conditions including ulnar nerve entrapment (cubital tunnel syndrome) and posterior interosseous nerve (PIN) syndrome
  • Degenerative conditions that may benefit from arthroscopic surgery, such as osteoarthritis or osteochondritis dissecans

Dr. Laric has extensive experience in treating upper limb trauma especially with regard to the wrist and hand. The pathology is vast, including loss of skin and soft tissue which would require soft tissue cover and repair, fractures which would require surgical fixation and bone grafting when necessary, tendon and nerve repair, and if necessary – later tendon transfer procedures. Dr. Laric uses his vast experience in treating the above injuries, as one of his special interests.

Arthritis and deformities of the hand and wrist can severely impact quality of life by limiting the ability to perform basic tasks like gripping, writing, or buttoning clothes. Dr. Laric treats various conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and selected inflammatory conditions such as gout, trigger finger, de Quervain's tenosynovitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, hand tumours, and Dupuytren's contracture. Treatment options range from conservative management with splinting and injections to surgical interventions such as joint replacement, joint fusion, tendon releases, and deformity corrections. For arthritis, procedures may include removal of arthritic bone spurs, joint replacement with modern implants, or fusion of severely damaged joints. The goal is to reduce pain, improve function, and help patients maintain independence in daily activities while preserving as much natural hand function as possible.
